FFA Mission Statement
The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making
a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their
potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through
agricultural education.
Goals of the Agriculture Education Program
Provide instruction on the use of appropriate technology to promote safety and sustainability of natural resources.
Practice skills and apply knowledge through extensive experiential learning situations in agriculture.
Develop cooperation and citizenship skills.
Emphasize leadership and personal relations skills development.
Conduct classroom instruction coordinated with field, laboratory, or work experience.
Integrate biotechnology and computers in to the curriculum.
Use community resources to enhance learning and application of skills.
Identify career opportunities skills and knowledge learned in the Ag Ed program may be utilized.
Provide instruction on the basic transferable skills including communication and computation skills.
Develop entrepreneurial knowledge and skills.
Promote consumer education regarding food and fiber systems.
Provide instruction in decision making and problem solving processes.
Develop knowledge and understanding of the food chain and agricultural systems around the world.
